A charger without a charger

I bought a new wireless charger the other week. Upon opening the box, I found it didn't come with a charger to plug into the wall.

A charger without a charger.

You know the numbers: over two-thirds of employees are disengaged, having (at best) a transactional relationship with work.

We often forget: managers, directors, and vice presidents are employees too.

They're part of that statistic, silently craving a spark.

We expect leaders to motivate, to energize, to ignite passion. Yet, who's motivating the motivators?

Who's charging those tasked with charging others?

The answer, too often, is no one.

Seniority does not mean immunity to burnout. Everyone, at every level, needs a jolt of energy from time to time: meaningful connection, growth, a sense of purpose.

It's about giving your managers the same care and attention you expect them to give your people.

Because managers are more likely to give what they get.

A charger without a charger is just a paperweight.

And a leader without motivation is just

Going through the motions.
